What’s happening now?

from my home in Denmark.
What I am focusing on now.
I am currently focused on creating a family friendly tabletop RPG inspired by Ironsworn by Shawn Tomkin and The Mythic Game Emulator by Tana Pigeon.
So far I am in the writing phase and the very early play testing phase (my kids and husband are being troupers about me changing rules here and there, and about suggesting rules when needs arise)
What I am playing now.
TTRPGS
I am still dropping in and out of my long running Solo DnD 5e campaign and a similarly long running solo Ironsworn campaign.
Boardgames
Personally, I have been loving relaxing with solo modes of Cascadia, Hamlet and Terraforming Mars.
As a family we’ve been enjoying Azul, King of Tokyo and Diamant (aka. Incan Gold).
Computer games
Minecraft is still my favourite, even after all these years. My main playtime lately has been on our fun little family bedrock survival realm. I have taken over an island with a village on it and it is slowly becoming my ultimate fantasy biome.
Slay the Spire. Really enjoying the daily challenges especially, and learning cool tactics for each of the different characters.
Games I want to buy now.
Very interested in getting my hands on a copy of Forest Shuffle and Thunder Road: Vendetta at the moment, as I especially feel like these will be fun for the whole gang here at home.
On the solo boardgame horizon, I would love to get a copy of Isle of Cats as I hear very good things, and am seriously eyeing off Root: The Clockwork Expansion just so I can get Root to the table more often.
For my grown-ups gaming group, you can bet your wazoo I’m aching to get Earthborne Rangers to explore that loveliness too.
What am I reading now?
I’ve been working my way through the “Dragonlance” books, especially the titles by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis. Once I am done with those I will probably get some of the series by other authors, as I really love the world.
What am I learning now?
I have recently been revisiting my t-shirt design and digital illustration business that I started back in 2009 as a side project. Currently I’m re-learning how to create my favoured image style using Krita instead of the Adobe apps I used to use (I cancelled my subscription with them, and you should too!), and learning about which are the best platforms to sell on for product quality etc. I will alse soon delve into how to market my designs online in an etical and non-spammy way.
In my professional life I am learning about web accessibility, especially as it pertains to WordPress development, and will soon start some online courses about web sustainability, again with a focus on sustainability in relation to WordPress development and administration.
As it looks like AI is here to stay, I am also researching methods for my small business clients to use it ethically within their web admisintration processes.
What’s Life doing now?
We are in full kitchen garden goblin mode here at home, expanding our raised beds and planning more ways to get edible crops into our suburban back garden. Although, I have cleared out a large area in our front garden and filled it up with wildflowers … just as a thank you to the local birds, bees and insects.
We have just finished us a lovely but hectic summer holiday period and now the kids are back at school, and I am back at work with freelance wordpress web development and administration, with a bit of t-shirt designing thrown in on the side.
